Metro North and Amtrak passengers:  Traveling to or from Bard College Monday through Saturday?  Consider taking the Dutchess County Transit Route C Bus between Kline Bus Stop Poughkeepsie Station.  The ride is free if you show the driver your current Bard ID while boarding.

BARD Transportation will provide Sunday shuttles to and from Poughkeepsie Station (Metro-North & Amtrak) and Rhinecliff Station (Amtrak) for students on the following dates:

Fall 2025:  Sun, Aug 31 – Sun, Dec 14                                                                                 Spring 2026:  Sun, Jan 25 – Sun, May 17
 
Rhinecliff Station (Amtrak) and Poughkeepsie Station (Metro-North and Amtrak)  Depending on weather and traffic, travel to Rhinecliff Station takes 20 to 25 minutes.  Travel to Poughkeepsie takes 60 to 70 minutes.  Plan your train times accordingly.
 
A Tonche Transit Yellow or White School Bus will drop off and pick up passengers at Rhinecliff Station on Hutton Street, and drop off and pickup passengers at the Poughkeepsie Station Taxi Stand/Bus Horseshoe off the main lobby.  All Northbound passengers will be dropped at Kline Bus Stop.

  • Drop off @ Rhinecliff Train Station Southbound: 11:50 AM | 3:20 PM | 5:25 PM
  • Drop off and Pickup @ Poughkeepsie Station:    12:40 PM | 4:10 PM | 6:15 PM
  • Pickup @ Rhinecliff Station Northbound:               1:25 PM | 4:45 PM | 6:50 PM
  • Drop off @ Kline Northbound Bus Stop:                 1:45 PM | 5:05 PM | 7:10 PM

*Train Schedules are subject to change. The Bard shuttle will meet the closest train to the schedule. To verify train schedules call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL or Metro-North at 1-800-METRO-INFO.

ROUTE C BUS  &  DUTCHESS COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSIT

Monday-Saturday -Bard Students, Staff, and Faculty are encouraged to use the Dutchess County Public Transit Route C Bus.  Thanks to our partnership with DCPT, the ride is always free on any route when you show your valid Bard College ID.

No DCPT Bus Service on New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather (ice and snow), updates will be posted to our home page, and to Regroup.com, the Campus Emergency Notification System.
